PAIA Manual

This manual is published in accordance with section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 ("PAIA"). It explains how to request access to information held by PropertyEngine.

About PropertyEngine

PropertyEngine (Pty) Ltd is a private body registered in South Africa, providing software-as-a-service to estate agencies. Registered address: The Studios, 12 Roeland Street, Cape Town, 8001.

Information Officer

The designated Information Officer is the Chief Executive Officer. Requests should be addressed to paia@propertyengine.co.za.

Records held

We hold records relating to customer accounts, financial information, employment, and operational matters. Specific record types are set out in the full PDF version of this manual, available on request.

How to request access

Submit a completed Form 02 (Request for Access to Record of Private Body) to paia@propertyengine.co.za. We will acknowledge receipt within 7 days and respond to the request within 30 days, as required by PAIA.

A prescribed fee may apply, payable before the record is produced.

Grounds for refusal

We may refuse access where required or permitted by PAIA, for example to protect third-party privacy, commercially sensitive information, or where another statute requires confidentiality.

Internal appeal & SAHRC

If your request is refused, you may request internal review by writing to paia@propertyengine.co.za, or refer the matter to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
