PropertyEngine takes privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are under POPIA and other applicable laws.

Who we are

Information we collect

From customers: account details, billing information, the content you upload to operate your agency on the platform.

From visitors: cookies, analytics events, IP address and basic device information.

From end-users (e.g. buyers and sellers in your deals): only what your agency provides to us in the course of using the service.

How we use it

We use personal information to deliver the service, send transactional and product communications, improve the platform, comply with legal obligations, and (only with your consent) for marketing.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use customer data to train external AI models.

Sharing

We share data with sub-processors who help us run the platform, including hosting, email delivery and analytics. A current list is available on request.

We share data with regulators and law enforcement only where legally required.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to meet legal, accounting or audit obligations. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your personal information. Contact privacy@propertyengine.co.za to exercise any of these rights.

International transfers

Most data is stored in South Africa. Where we use sub-processors abroad (e.g. for email delivery), we put appropriate safeguards in place as required by POPIA.

Security

We use AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, role-based access, and tamper-evident audit logs. Read more on the Compliance page.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies for authentication, security, and product analytics. You can control cookies via your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We'll notify customers of material changes via email or in-app notice. The latest version is always available at this URL.
